Consumer Protection and Defense

Erin L. Peters, Esq.

Erin Peters worked for several years in the mortgage field before entering the legal profession.  She has extensive experience in real estate transactions from loan application to closing, and all of the processes in between.  Erin graduated from Birmingham School of Law in 2007 and began her practice as a closing attorney, also handling consumer matters such as FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, foreclosure defense and bankruptcy. Erin joined a Birmingham firm in May 2011, where she began handling litigation of the above-referenced matters, primarily focusing on foreclosure defense and TCPA cases.  In January 2014, Erin resumed solo practice, in which she remains dedicated to consumer protection and defense. She is a member of the Alabama Bar and is admitted to practice in the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama.

I also represent clients in general real estate/property law matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, and have successfully litigated TCPA cases (violations of do-not-call lists, including unsolicited texts), among other various civil matters. I offer a free consultation, and strive to extend affordable payment options. Please feel free to browse this site for more information about my areas of practice.

I am an experienced Alabama consumer protection attorney headquartered in Birmingham. I represent clients in defense of mortgage servicing errors, predatory lending, foreclosure, and ejectment actions, as well as holding creditors and debt collectors responsible for consumer credit and debt issues such as violations of the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) and the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act). Should a client’s situation warrant bankruptcy protection, I file petitions under Chapters 7 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code, depending on the individual’s need.

I can help you find your way.

Erin L. Peters, Attorney at Law
